Its just Beer ... or is it?

We are very excited about launching and building the Hope Ales brand. There is much more to beer and the business of beer than one would ever imagine; painfully dull small business stuff, a learning curve which mandates a healthy sense of humor, the yin and yang of brewing, wildly creative stuff like promotions and marketing, and finally the pure exhaustion of being an entrepreneur. We thought we’d take the time to record our experiences (its cheaper than therapy). There is no set schedule and you never who will be writing, but we HOPE you find it interesting nonetheless.
This is our beer, this is our life ...

This blog entry is the final step before we launch our web site. It seems to me that once the web site is up and available for all to see, that this whole “Hope thing” will finally be real, its very exciting and a bit daunting at the same time. This has been a project long in the making, and the adventure is just beginning. I wonder where it will take us ... just how far can two goofballs go on Hope?

It occurs to me that as I sit at my kitchen counter with baseball on the radio, writing this blog, my beer is out living it up on a Saturday night. We have sample bottles and kegs of the Hope Amber Ale, which we are using to thank our friends and for taste testing purposes. Tonight, there is a keg sitting literally on the dock down the street at the Pawtuxet Cove Marina at a fundraiser, Stephen took a couple of cases to a 30th birthday party so that his friends could try it, and two six-packs are in Cedric and Christina’s stunning kitchen with a friend that is visiting. In each case, we are proud to be a part of peoples lives and it is our HOPE that our beers make positive contributions to friendships and our community. Personally, I think we could all use a bit of Hope in a Bottle these days. Toodles, ltk
